Features

The 32.5 MP APS-C sensor, coupled with Canon's Dual Pixel AF II technology, excels at subject tracking, which is essential for capturing sharp images of fast-moving subjects. We've found the autofocus to be reliable and responsive, allowing us to keep our subjects in focus even in challenging conditions.

The EOS R7 also offers several practical features that enhance its usability, such as dual UHS-II SD card slots, weather sealing, and a comfortable grip that's reminiscent of Canon's DSLR lineage. The vari-angle touchscreen and familiar Canon menu system make the camera easy to navigate and customize to our preferences.

While the camera performs admirably in various shooting conditions, we have noticed that it struggles somewhat in low-light scenarios compared to full-frame models. Additionally, the limited native RF-S lens lineup remains a limitation, though the camera's compatibility with RF, EF, and EF-S lenses via adapters helps to mitigate this issue.

Despite these minor drawbacks, the EOS R7's versatility, including its ability to record un-cropped 4K/60p video, makes it a strong contender in the APS-C mirrorless market, especially considering its competitive price point. We believe the camera is suitable for a wide range of photographers, from enthusiasts to professionals, and offers excellent value for those seeking a capable and versatile mirrorless camera.
